Fertilizers are any solid, liquid or gaseous substances containing one or more plant nutrients. A fertilizer fertiliser is any material of natural or synthetic origin that is applied to soil or to plant tissues to supply one or more plant nutrients essential to the growth of plants. Many sources of fertilizer exist, both natural and industrially produced.
They are either applied to the soil, directly on the plant or added to the aqueous solution, in order to maintain soil fertility, improve crop development, yield and crop quality.
